Christian Hosoi Puts His Story On Pages
The original rock star of the skate world releases his memoir.
In the late 1980s, skater Christian Hosoi had it all. Only a teenager, he was the face of Los Angeles skateboarding, involved with drugs, stardom, girls, and other Hollywood perks. Although he was living an undeniably luxurious life, Hosoi seemed to have overdosed on his cool when the skate industry took a hard crash in the ’90s. Relatively quick, Hosoi went from being in a one-on-one battle for best young skater with Tony Hawk, to potentially calling a prison in Hawaii his home for ten years on a charge for trafficking meth.
The man who invented the Christ-Air is telling his story in his new book Hosoi: My Life as a Skateboarder Junkie Inmate Pastor. Even if you’ve seen the documentary, Rising Son, the book is a must read. It offers lessons from specific stories and info from his riveting life. Buy the book at Amazon or any local bookstore to learn the complete story about a man who failed to reach his full potential due to bad decisions, but in conclusion has redeemed himself spiritually.
