New York City played host to Chi-Raq’s army of street-slash-rap ambassadors this past weekend–Chief Keef, Fredo Santana and their Glory Boyz Entertainment (GBE) squad. The crew was in town from Chicago for a few promotional rounds that included a Fredo x Dertbag t-shirt release at Lower East Side boutique The Good Company, a visit to the Beats By Dre store in SoHo and a concert at the Best Buy Theater to top the night off with a performance bang. Mass Appeal’s own Brook Bobbins spent an entire day with the group and gives us an exclusive look into the visit.
Despite the notorious Big Apple heat, a real cool crowd of honeys and fellas (fully equipped with water guns to chill out for real) made it out for the Dertbag x Fredo Santana collaborative t-shirt release. Allen Street, where the The Good Company shop resides, became a makeshift playground for attendees looking to mingle with GBE’s capo or snag the exclusive “Fredo In The Cut, That’s a Scary Sight” tee.
Fans lined up in Beats Store in SoHo for the release of the Chief Keef x Beats By Dre headphones. In addition to signing posters and taking photos, Chief Keef fans had the added incentive of free tickets to that evenings show with the purchase of the limited edition accessory.
Times Square’s Best Buy Theater filled out and “turnt up” to welcome Chicago’s breakout crew complete with guest appearances from local socialites like 40oz Van, A$AP Illz, and Vinny Cha$e who opened for the GBE squad. It goes without saying, there was a whole lotta smoking, sippin’ and smiling before setting the stage ablaze.
