The Toronto International Film Festival announced Wednesday that it’ll be celebrating Bill Murray day on September 5. The day will feature free screenings of some of Murray’s best films, including Stripes, Groundhog Day, and Ghostbusters. The minifestival will also lead to the world premiere of his newest film, St. Vincent.
This is essentially a Bill Murray extravaganza with an appearance by the man himself. A spokeswoman for the Weinstein Company has confirmed that Bill Murray has agreed to do a Q&A with the audience after a screening of St. Vincent, and chat about the film and his career.
Tickets for the free screenings will be available at 8 AM sharp at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. 50 random people who attend all three screenings will be given free tickets to the St. Vincent premiere at 9PM at the Princess of Wales Theater.
For the rest of us who can’t attend, stay home, kick back, and watch some classic Murray films and skits this September 5. Check below for a gem from the documentary Coffee & Cigarettes.
