Capcom Launches Resident Evil 6 With Human Meat Shop in London
One big room, full of dead bodies.
That was the idea behind Wesker & Sons, Capcom’s human meat pop-up butcher shop in London’s Smithfield meat market. The meat shop was a two-day promo stunt for Resident Evil 6 which, of course, features a hordes of flesh-eating zombies as the antagonists.
The idea for the shop came from creative director Miss Cakehead and featured edible, human-like body parts for sale like severed hands, legs and torsos – all for just a few pounds. Because selling real human body parts and cannibalism are illegal and a little too macabre, the meat was actually animal meat shaped into human parts by a food artist.
The faux flesh apparently sold well with all proceeds going to the Limbless Association, supports amputees and the limbless community in the United kingdom–seriously.
