Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival Brings Electronica & Education to NYC

bkemf Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival 2012

The Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival will become New York’s conjoined attraction of entertainment and education this weekend. The world’s best DJ/Producers who specialize in weird and/or almost-commercial EDM will be showcasing their skills at leading party venues in Williamsburg (i.e. Brooklyn Bowl, Public Assembly, Glasslands). See, usually when Friday and Saturday hit, it’s time to filter through Facebook invites or text messages in search of recognizable DJs that spin at the least Top 40 dance party—the opposite of what that usually predominates the this time of the week. Well, search no further.

Over BEMF’s five years, the talent roster has grown tremendously offering top notch performers of every dance music sub genre for any geek to fan out on. The headliners this time around boasts live sets by Gold Panda, Kingdom, Brenmar, Mess Kid, MikeQ, Rizzla, Nguzunguzu, Jackmaster, Morri$, Deadboy, Mykki Blanco, Nicolas Jaar, Shlohmo and lawd willin’, Fatima Al Qadiri! It’s the lineup to head nod to while going broke at the bar. Buy tickets to the 2-day event, and get focused for the festivities with streaming playlists courtesy of Spotify and RCRD LBL.

The L Train to Williamsburg is officially back in action, since the storm that was.
