Today’s Bump That! comes courtesy of Virginia’s Audra The Rapper, a badass chick whose rhymes are just as honest as her name. Don’t let those looks fool you, Audra can spit, never hesitating to express herself or withhold personal thoughts on situations like casual encounters with unfamiliar faces. That’s the basis for her latest video, “Hit and Run,” produced by teenage sensation Closer and featuring vocals from Abir Haronni.
As for the Kharvari directed video, it follows Audra through a number of those unpleasant and awkward “morning-after” scenarios that we all too often find ourselves in. It serves as an admonition to those who feel they’re invincible. Do you, if you can handle it, but avoid it if you’re sensitive, as becoming the victim of a hit and run could be lethal to one’s affection.
Audra The Rapper is someone you should be checking for when it comes to the Female MC scene. She is currently in the lab working with Slimmy Neutron on her 4th studio record, set to release this fall.
City dwellers have a chance to catch Audra showcase her talents with a live band over at SOB’s tomorrow as part of BET’s Music Matters Series, for FREE.
