Washed Out “The Sound of Creation”
No, it’s not a sign of a new full release, but “The Sound of Creation” may be enough to tide over fans of Ernest “Washed Out” Greene’s acclaimed 2011 album, Within and Without. Consumer electronics giant Philips enlisted the chillwave artist to help score the musical story to their “Sound of Creation” campaign, hence the eponymous title of this song.
Tasked with putting forth an “autobiographical exploration of his music influences,” the track is a brief sample of the synthpop soundscapes Washed Out has become known for. Consequence of Sound caught up with Greene for a Q&A session on his musical inspiration and Philips’ campaign.
