A$AP Ferg “Hood Pope”

The Trap Lord liberates another joint off his new album.

It looks like this summer is shaping up nicely for A$AP Ferg, who dropped a new single entitled “Hood Pope.” A mere two weeks after releasing the video to “Shabba,” Ferg liberated the track from his upcoming album The Trap Lord last night. The song is a more laid-back cut than Ferg’s previous work, with clear influences from Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony. “Hood Pope” has a dark instrumental that matches the melodic variation of the Harlem native’s lyrics, in which he raps about being the dude that the whole hood looks up to.

Look out for more buzz about The Trap Lord as it gets closer to its release date on August 20th. For those who want to pre-order the album, head to iTunes, which will let you download “Hood Pope” immediately. Otherwise, check the stream for the single on Soundcloud below.
