Andre 3000 works with Aretha Franklin on new album

Andre 3000 to Co-Produce New Aretha Franklin Album

We could be hearing the R.E.S.P.E.C.T remix very soon.

The music gods have blessed the world with not only the revival of Outkast (check out the flicks from Governors Ball), but an Aretha Franklin album co-produced by Andre 3000 himself. If that’s not the most unexpected music news you’ll get today… no, this is the most unexpected news you’ll get today, even one-upping that time Stevie Wonder made a appearance on Drake’s “Doing it Wrong.”

The legendary soul singer hasn’t put out an album since 2011. Her new album will be comprised of covers, featuring tracks ranging from Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” to Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”

Franklin made this statement on the collaboration:

“I’m pretty sure it’s going to be fun working with (Andre 3000), just watching his videos and things,” Franklin says. “It should be fun. And, of course, they all come with great music, so I expect that.”

In the near future, aka September, we could very well all be singing the remix to “R.E.S.P.E.C.T” flipped over the instrumental to “Bombs Over Baghdad.”
