A$AP Ferg is back in front of the camera, but this time around he’s
not getting his Mega-Man in tha’ hood on getting his Tyson Beckford on. Young Fergiano Swaggoratti has been tapped by designer Astrid Andersen to model her new 17-piece collection for Topman.
The collection is understated, but with a vibrant pop when color is used. The collection boasts a palette of fashion staples black and white, but also contains hits of gold and carnation pink. However, the most striking feature of the collection is the inspiration behind it, shared by Astrid Andersen:
The inspiration for the design was a website I found on Punjab basketball teams,” she says. “There were images from the fifties right up to today so the inspiration became the crossover references on how this was originally a national sport but as time progressed it became highly Americanised. The colour code and metal reflect the traditional use of Indian colours but in a tight palette.
The ASVP guild is known to vanquish shit sartorially, so it’s no surprise Ferg was pulled in to put that dapper Traplordian stamp of approval on the new Topman collection. Be on the lookout, and head to your local Topman retailer to snag some pieces on June 12.
