A Calvin and Hobbes animated short by Adam Brown
Does life imitate art or art imitate life? Seems like a question that 16th century French Reformation theologian John Calvin and 17th century English political philosopher Thomas Hobbes would answer. For now we just we have this “Calvin and Hobbes” animated short by “Ugly American’s” animator Adam Brown, inspired by Bill Watterson’s famous comic strip (syndicated from November 18, 1985 to December 31, 1995). The short brings to life a comic strip (as seen below) of young Calvin playing with a toy truck, as he suddenly notices a weird noise, and before he can look up is pounced on by his anthropomorphic tiger Hobbes. Simple and jovial, the short pretty much serves as nostalgia for anyone who grew up on the animated duo and their childish antics. And who the F wants to grow up anyways?
