The 7th annual NYC Bridge Runners Legends Never Die run takes place this Sunday, July 9th in The Big Apple’s Lower East Side. The event pays homage to the late Harold Hunter, one of the city’s most beloved and admired skateboarders/actors/cultural pioneers.
From his breakout fictional role in Larry Clark’s Kids (1995) to his actual role as one of the primary ambassadors of the original Zoo York skate team, Harold’s was a New York City essence that was respected for its spontaneity, loyalty and dedication to the home teams, no matter what platform it was on–local and worldwide!
This year’s run will honor the fallen legend and feature a limited edition cotton/polyester wick tech tees designed by renowned creative/illustrator Kevin Lyons . The one-of-a-kind running shirts are currently on sale for $30 with all procedes going towards the Harold Hunter Foundation a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting urban youth via skateboarding. Supporters unable to join the event can still add their contribution and obtain their own tees via www.retailmafiosos.com.
Participants looking to run, skate or bike the event can show up on Sunday to the Bridge Runners Headquarters (Bowery & Rivington) at 5PM for the 24K run, 6:30PM for the 7 mile run and 7:15PM for the 3 mile run.
