Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony have their own conferences to show off what everyone wants to see, while smaller developers display their indie titles and new intellectual properties on the showroom for the press to play. Through all of the numerous tech and gaming sites covering the event, it’s hard to filter what’s interesting from what’s not. But of course, we got you. Peep our list of the 11 need to knows about this year’s E3.
In this reimagining of the Battlefield series, Hardline shifts its focus away from being a military shooter and steps into the police force. EA says this title is essentially “cops and robbers” gameplay style, where players can either play as criminals pulling heists and committing offenses, or the SWAT team whose job is to seek vengeance against those who disrespect the law. Expect lots of explosions and zip-lines through a fictional concrete jungle of the city. The game drops October 21, 2014 and already has a closed beta for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
